Mommy Culture
Read Review

There was a little girl, Who had a little curl, Right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, She was very good indeed, But when she was bad she was horrid.

You may have heard this lovely little poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow! Maybe my mom did too and decided to put up a fight against my curls. Since I was a wee one my mom has been in denial of the fact that my hair is curly. She seriously believed she could whip it back to the ”proper” straight hair that it was.

Having been forced to tame my curls all my life, and facing the frustrations of frizzy curls and not knowing what to do with it in hightschool, I know all too well what it means to live with curls! I used to hate them..hate them so much that I tried relaxing it at the salon, tried home relaxers meant for black hair, tried some natural recipe I found that used flour that made a horrible mess and stuck to my hair like glue. My attempt to use gels and mousses did nothing to control my wild frizzy hair. From trying natural products to water based to silicone based, from gels to mousses to waxes and serums, magic shampoos to potions to leave-in conditioners, I tried everything out there and nothing worked.

Then thanks to the powers of the internet gods, I found CURL KEEPER. I was really skeptical at first and infact the first time I used the product I remember being very frustrated. It took a few tries to master the technique and I have been addicted to it for over 10 years. I love my CURL KEEPER and never travel anywhere without it.

I’m sure you’re wondering how it’s different from any other product on the market. For starters, this product is silicone-free and does not build up in the hair. I wash my hair and use it one day, the next day I just wet my hair with some water to reactivate it. You don’t need to apply any more product. If I notice some flyaways I use a bit of product and lightly dab it on my hair. But I can go about 2-3 days with beautiful curls without washing my hair. Once the product dries it leaves the hair soft and does not make it stiff like when you use gel. The trick is to work with your hair while it’s dripping wet from the shower; apply the product to small sections of the hair and twish it and scrunch it. You can’t play with your hair too much as it’s drying as that causes the frizz but you apply enough product to hold the curls and then leave it alone. I usually let my hair air dry or use a hair dryer with diffuser after air drying for abot 10 minutes. Don’t ever put a hairdryer without a diffuser to your curly hair.

Every time I get compliments on my hair I tell people about curl keeper. I have pretty much made it my mission to help my fellow curlies everywhere so any time someone complains about their curly hair I tell them about this great product. Please note that I was not paid to do this review. I strongly believe in this product as I have been using it over 10 years and can confidently say it works well on curly hair. I’d be happy to do a video or step-by-step tutorial on how to use it at a later time if there is enough interest.
